Update 24 Jan

Good afternoon everyone,

We have realised that some of the contact details we have for parishioners are out of date, and it is important that we have current details- particularly at the moment when we made need to contact you quickly as the covid situation changes. Alex has made a new form that can easily be completed online -no need to print it 😊 It can be completed here in just a few minutes. (and I will have printed forms for people who do not have email access). Please complete it as soon as possible, because this will be of great assistance if, for example, we need to contact you because someone you were at church with has tested positive. We might just be able to inform you before the contact-tracers can.

A couple of people asked for a copy of yesterday’s service: Aboriginal Sunday and (of course) I forgot who asked! Feel free to ignore it unless you are interested. And thanks to those who were encouraging and said positive things about the service.

Our little library in the hall is in need of some new books, so if you have some at home that you’re sure you won’t read again, and if you can bear to part with them, please consider donating them. Lots of people enjoy using the library and proceeds go to St Bart’s, which is a very good cause.

Some of you will know Ros Ferrier, a former parishioner of St Nic’s: sadly she has died, and her funeral will be at St Anselm’s, Kingsley Parish, this Thursday at 10am. Please pass this on to anyone known to you who won’t see this email.

New equipment is on order that will enable us to live-stream services for those who need to stay home; watch this space for news!

Don’t forget to put your name down, or let Alex know, if you’d like to be part of the Toddler Jam Team. It re-starts on Tuesday February 1st.

The Wednesday 9:15am service re-starts on February 2nd.

I have received no new advice regarding mandates or restrictions applying to churches so for now we continue to:

  • Wear a mask, ensuring it fits well and covers nose and mouth; we will keep some at church if you forget and will ask for a donation to cover the cost.
  • Check in using the app or sign-in sheet
  • Wash / sanitise hands carefully
  • Observe social distancing where practical
  • Stay home if feeling unwell

The Collect Prayer for this week:

O God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you:
mercifully accept our prayers,
and because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do nothing good without you,
grant us the help of your grace,
that in keeping your commandments
we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless,

Lorna
